Pincer recursion?

I saw that in my PR. I did a quick search on the web and I found nothing except messages in this chat. Is this a name that we made up because naming is one of the hardest problems in computer science?

I mean if I use my imagination I can understand why the thing is named that way... so the name is quite descriptive actually.
