This is meant to say \u=(f * g) x
but the wrong newline after *
makes it look like \u=(f * x = g)

I can confirm I also see this sometimes, on Windows 10/Chrome. I don't see it in docs#monoid_algebra.mul_apply, but I do see it at (e.g.) docs#measure_theory.simple_func.integrable_pair
