Topic: open meeting: collaboration towards IMOGC / AIMO Prize

David Renshaw (Feb 22 2024 at 15:52):

Hi everyone!

Next week, I'll be hosting an informal virtual meetup for anyone interested in collaborating towards the IMO Grand Challenge and/or AIMO Prize. The main point will be to get people to meet each other. I can start with some show-and-tell of what I've been working on, and we can open the floor for anyone else with something to share.

The meeting will be at . For a link to the video chat, see this calendar and in particular this event.

I've posted an invite on the EleutherAI Discord as well. Maybe we can get some good crossover between the communities.

Kevin Cheung (Feb 23 2024 at 12:41):

What kind of skills does one need to have for this collaboration?

David Renshaw (Feb 23 2024 at 13:48):

There are potentially lots of ways to contribute. I encourage you to attend if you think the project sounds interesting, regardless of your prior skills.

I made the meeting "open to join" so that I don't need to manually approve everyone.

David Renshaw (Feb 29 2024 at 17:07):

15 or so people showed up, and there seemed to be sufficient interest for a follow-up meeting. So I added an event on the calendar for two weeks from now:

David Renshaw (Feb 29 2024 at 17:08):

(Same time slot, because nobody complained about it.)

Kevin Buzzard (Feb 29 2024 at 19:43):

(because all the people who couldn't make that time slot didn't show up ;-) )

David Renshaw (Mar 14 2024 at 12:15):

Reminder (because timezones are weird): today's meeting is at , which is 2.75 hours from now.
