Something similar to https://github.com/ratatui/ratatui or https://github.com/amethyst/bracket-lib or https://invisible-island.net/ncurses/ but for lean.
Alternatively - how hard would it be to make something like this from scratch?

None that I'm aware of personally, but if you choose to work on one, a great feature to keep in mind is having the layout model be generic/pluggable enough to also work in browser contexts :) -- the best TUI library I've ever used, urwid, has https://urwid.org/manual/displaymodules.html (though I've never used ratatui, I know it's also well liked)

But something like the above is one way I see at getting Lean widgets closer to each other in VSCode and Neovim
