I guess that the reason is that if there is no question, all answers are good and there is no point to add another one...

Generally, the polling process should not be complete without a question?

Sounds like the bug report is that a poll created via a bare /poll doesn't let users add other options?

If possible, I think that also the possibility of editing the options in a poll, maybe for a limited time after posting, would be useful.

That was @Eric Wieser's doing: it looks like he moved it from somewhere else.

Yeah, I can tell the message was moved from elsewhere. But regardless of the move -- even as the poll author, I don't seem to be able to add options until there's a question on the poll.

To close the loop, I've relayed the report to https://chat.zulip.org/#narrow/channel/9-issues/topic/polls.20with.20no.20question.20cannot.20have.20questions.20added.20to.20them and we'll see if someone picks it up.

We're racing toward the finish line for the 10.0 release right now, and I can't say that this bug will be a top priority before we get that out the door.

If the Zulip maintainers get pinged for movements in this channel, I am sure that they are loving this discussion.

I can't speak for other Zulip developers, but I've configured my notifications here to be pretty low-urgency, so don't hesitate to discuss or play around with things in this topic on that account. I do love the discussion! :)
