Disabling "subscribe user to this stream" popups

Whenever I write a message in a private channel referring to a user not in that channel, I am constantly afraid that I will misclick the :cross_mark: on the "$user is not subscribed to this stream. They will not be notified unless you subscribe them." popup by a few pixels and subscribe them to a channel they are not supposed to have access to.

Could this be disabled on private channels?

Alternatively, mention them using @_ instead of @.
