Expand membership of group DM

Is there a way to expand membership of a group DM that doesn't create a new chat altogether. Ideally we want to use the same chat and allow new users to look at that chat history.

Nope, that doesn't exist. Depending on the topic, it might warrant creating a new (private) channel though.
