Stream: Zulip meta
Sam Estep (Jul 26 2020 at 16:25):
I'd like to get notifications for topics that I'm participating in, but getting notified for every message in a stream is too much; just to check, is there any way to get that sort of finer granularity for notifications? Judging from this issue on GitHub I would guess not, but I figured I'd ask here as well just in case
Mario Carneiro (Jul 26 2020 at 16:25):
I don't think there is
Sam Estep (Jul 26 2020 at 16:28):
Ok, thanks for confirming @Mario Carneiro ! Unfortunate but maybe the PR mentioned in that issue will be merged soon
Utensil Song (Jul 27 2020 at 01:52):
This tip might be related in the world without notifications for topics:
Every-time you wish to check the updates in the topics you participated, open "Recent topics" (at the top left corner of the Zulip client) and choose "Participated".
(This is a beta feature, you might need to update the client)
Utensil Song (Jul 27 2020 at 01:54):
Before there's this feature, I've been using another trick:
Click the vertical 3 dots on the right of my used id in "USERS" (on the left of the Zulip client), and choose "View messages sent".
(I've been using this trick to track @Eric Wieser too)
Utensil Song (Jul 27 2020 at 01:55):
Unfortunately, both tricks are not available to the app, so I'm subscribing to everything...
Sam Estep (Jul 28 2020 at 01:32):
That is useful, thanks @Utensil Song! It would still be better to get push notifications, but at least this way it's easy to check once a day or so
