Topic: mobile apps: getting links to messages
Shreyas Srinivas (Jun 16 2025 at 16:42):
It seems there is no direct way to get a link to any message on the mobile app. This means when I want to share and discuss a message, let’s say an announcement, with someone, I have to go through the frustrating experience of opening Zulip on my mobile browser.
Shreyas Srinivas (Jun 16 2025 at 16:42):
I am on iOS but have had the same experience with android.
Joscha Mennicken (Jun 16 2025 at 17:15):
The beta app has an option to copy message links.

It should go out to all users this week actually :) we’ve been working hard and we’re excited for the launch! :rocket:

But still no latex support? :-( This is currently the only reason I still use the old app...
Chris Bobbe (Jun 17 2025 at 07:14):
“No support” isn’t accurate :slight_smile:but indeed we’re still working on some key features; see today’s update: https://github.com/zulip/zulip-flutter/issues/46#issuecomment-2979142653

Oh sorry! I just switched back to the new app the other day when someone said that the "mark messages as read when you've read them" issue was fixed, and very quickly ran into a Latex-heavy post which wasn't rendered at all so switched back to the old app again. Latex is the only deal-breaker for me right now, very keen to switch!

No worries! You should try tonight's release v30.0.259, which expands support quite a bit! Here's the release announcement: https://chat.zulip.org/#narrow/channel/1-announce/topic/mobile.20releases/near/2202921
