Topic: Lecturer/Senior lecturer job at Imperial College London
Kevin Buzzard (Jan 17 2024 at 10:12):
Imperial College London is advertising a lectureship in pure mathematics. Quote from the ad: "Preference may be given to candidates with expertise in proof formalisation". My understanding is that this actually means "we've put Kevin on the panel and want to hire one of his funny new friends, but we don't quite know what we're doing here or who will apply, so want some kind of escape route just in case".

That's a short notice! Announced 16 January, deadline 4 February.
Kevin Buzzard (Jan 17 2024 at 15:12):
The head of pure maths (who passed the advertisment link on to me) remarked that he believed it was not even legal, because it's less than 4 weeks. So it would not surprise me if the deadline is extended.
Kevin Buzzard (Jan 17 2024 at 18:12):
Apparently the lawyers say it's fine, so we're stuck with it.
EDIT: I see they changed the deadline on the website to the 20th...Apparently this was an error The deadline is still the 4th (and the website says the 4th again)
