Topic: Post-doc offer at Saarbrücken University
Laurent Bartholdi (Jul 21 2021 at 14:41):
I'll soon be starting a new job at the University of Saarbrücken, and would welcome the opportunity of hiring at least one post-doctoral student with lean interests. Some details:
- This is a standard "Research Assistant", with 4 hours/week of teaching/tutoring duties (which will include running a lean practice seminar).
- Teaching can be done in English.
- Priority will be given to researchers with mathematical interests overlapping mine: geometric group theory, complexity theory, and symbolic and holomorphic dynamical systems.
- Positions are typically offered for 2 years, extendable once.
- The salary follows the A13/E13 guidelines (about 50k€/yr, depends on many factors such as experience and family).
Please contact me directly (laurent.bartholdi@gmail.com) if you are interested, with all the usual documents (CV, main results, research project). There is no specific deadline, I will consider applications as the come in.

I think it's great to see a math post-doc announcement mentioning Lean expertise. I'm afraid the timing is not great but I hope you'll find someone anyway.
Kevin Buzzard (Jul 21 2021 at 15:58):
Yes this is wonderful to see -- I am training PhD students right now with no clear idea about where they're going next.

Hi, what is the start date? If it is in 2022, then I'm interested.
